Hi there. Check out the contents of the pages listed in the nav bar on the left side of every page here, and pick a place to start. Don't try to do everything at once, or you will just get frustrated. If what your are looking for is not on the list of links on the nav bar at left, try the WD Search Engine to scour the message boards for your subject.
Ok, here's the 5-cent tour:
Homepage: - this has links to popular pages here as well as to other helpful MSN Groups, etc.
Rules: - there is a simple version and the Guidelines in detail accessible below the Rules page when it is open. Please take a moment to read them.
The Message Board: is where the action is. These have been revamped so please pick the correct topic for your post. Members can access the WD search engine to find answers quickly.
Tutorials: contains explanations on how to use the MSN page editor tools - both the basics and some advanced goodies
Basic Internet Security - safe surfing, email, passport, messenger and MSN Groups security, file sharing and download security, firewalls, security terminology, viruses, and viruses and "advice" by mail.
Hot Tips contains quick tricks for MSN pages and for "real" web pages - so read the fine print - not all the tricks will work on MSN-provided pages.
FP2000 on MSN contains info on using your own HTML editor tools (the basic rules apply to other tools besides MS FrontPage) to create page content for MSN-provided pages, or to create real web pages that have to be stored in your Documents folder.
Good Design contains the summaries of chats about MSN groups specifically - all kinds of tips and tricks for working with MSN groups.
Help Groups - are other help groups on MSN where additional assistance can be found. If you have an established group that provides technical web or PC or graphics help, please add it. NOTE: this is NOT for groups that NEED help!
Free*Stuff Section: - is a collection of links to free or cheap or trial versions of goodies all over the web - free graphics, sound, fonts, free tools, etc. Add your favorites to the lists.
Templates section: Four page templates and a newsletter template to choose from with instructions on how to copy and customize the layouts.
Handy Helpers section: These items are little addons and shortcuts we found or created to nifty things like fonts, color codes, downloads, submitting your group to search engines, etc., that you can use to create content for your site, promote your site, or to help understand the MSN tools.
Member Promos: is the place to post an ad for your site. Once you create your ad, you can edit it to bump it up to the first page every day or so. Please don't cause the page to sidescroll or your promo will be deleted.
Pictures: leads to our photo album, and there are lots of graphics in them that you can use - please read the descriptions because some can ONLY be used on your MSN site. Note that some are exclusive and copyrighted to WD.
Documents - Holds our tutorials and hot tips that won't work on MSN-provided pages.
