Page Templates for Your Site

To copy these to your site, select from the "start copy" text to the "end copy" text, and just delete the words outside the table after pasting to your page.

Scroll down so you can see the top of the template you want and put your cursor somewhere on the "start copy" text. Holding the left mouse button down, drag your cursor down and stop somewhere on the "end copy" text. Now leaving your cursor there with the section selected, right click on the mouse and select "copy" (or just hit Ctrl+C on your keyboard).

Then go to your new custom page, and paste (Ctrl+V) it into the page editor view. Save it. Now edit the page again and delete the 'start copy' and 'end copy' text above and below the table, and any spaces that appeared, and away you go.

Remember to use the EDIT TABLE tab when you make your changes. Do not forget to set the borders to zero (0) pixels width if you wish to make them invisible when you are done editing. Tables can be tricky to find when you want to re-edit them, but move your cursor slowly in the area of the table border until you see the "crosshairs" appear, then click once to select the table - look and see where the bounding boxes are, and if it is the right table, double click to bring up the table tool. If you have trouble grabbing hold of the table, put your cursor inside any table and hit the table tool. Click on the Edit Table tab and then the Update button. All tables should now be outlined in grey so you can see where they are.

Here are the Templates

2 Column Template Narrow column for links on left, wide body text column on right.
3 Column Template Narrow columns for links on left and right, wider center column.
Double Border Double border layout with links column in inner table.
Complex Template MSN-style, complex layout - many nested tables.
Newsletter Template Medium complexity - very customizable.
Corner Borders Medium complexity - very customizable.
Multiple Message Boards Template A clean expandable template to organize your message board links - just like MSN - only better. Complex to edit.

Tips for Using the Templates

Tables here all have borders set to 1 so you can see where the tables are. When you customize them for your group, be sure to edit the tables and set border width to zero.

It is safer to use a 1-column, multi-row table to hold links that are single-spaced on MSN groups, as such links here have a nasty way of "bleeding" into each other and losing the original URL. Copy this one and to add rows, just edit the table and click on the Insert Rows button.

If you want to use any of these layouts as part of a double-background design, paste it inside of your outer table. Use the cell padding on the outer table to set the size of the background area around the inner table.

You can easily color a cell as well as an entire table by selecting everything in it and clicking on the paint can on the Toolbar. Select the color you want from the MSN color picker. To enter custom colors, you will have to edit the HTML code for a cell. See the Using Tables and Advanced Tables tutorials for more info on working with tables.
