Chess Piece Tutorial

This tutorial will help you make your own chess pieces in PSP.
First you will need the Chek font, you can download it here.

Now open a new image in PSP with the settings shown below.

Next use the insert text tool , select the Cheq font and choose the stroke and fill colours you prefer. The letters B, K, N, P, Q and R are what we will use to make our pieces.

When you have your piece aligned on the canvas go to the layer palette, then right click a layer and choose Merge Visible.

Now go to Effects, 3D Effects and choose Inner Bevel.

Use the settings shown below or adjust them to your preferences.

We will now resize our image, click Image, then Resize.

I have chosen to resize to 30% of the original but you may prefer something different.

Now click The Export GIF tool.

Choose Existing image or layer transparency.

Then click OK and you're done.
