| Resizing and optimizing a JPEG First you need to make sure that all the toolbars you need are showing. Click View, then Toolbars.  Then check the ones that I have below:  Now you are ready to begin, open your image in PSP (Click File, then Open and browse for the one you want to use), then click Image followed by Resize.  Now choose the size you want, for a photograph I usually choose 600 pixels wide as shown below, but you can choose a percentage of the original or a print size if you prefer.  Now that you have resized your picture you can optimize it. Click the little JPEG arrow in the toolbar.  You can see what a big difference the compression will make to the filesize, choose the value that is most suitable for your graphic or leave it at the default.  Now click OK to save your picture.
