| System Properties First on your 'Desktop' open 'My Computer' . Then click on View System Information. You will see seven tabs . General gives you the general information of your computer and Windows you're using... such as below:  Computer Name below shows you the name of your computer, The description of Your Computer and Workgroup you use. The workgroup is used for networking. This I will show you in another tutorial. You can rename your computor here and also change the workgroup name to what ever you want it to be.  System Restore Tab is where you will be able to turn on or off System Restore. You will also beable to set the amount of disk space for how many restore points you want to allow.  Automatic updates tab allows you to set your choices for updates.  Hardware tab allows you to do three things. One view a list of all the hardware on your computer and be able to change the properties of a device. Two allows you to make sure the devices are campatible with windows you are using and get windows updates for such devices.  Remote tab allows you to choose whether to allow remote assistance invitations and select the users who you want to allow such access to these remote assistance such as yourself or another member in your home with their own user account. The Advance tab allows you to set Performance, User profiles and set start up and recovery . Just remember you have to be the administrator of your computer or a user with administrator privilages to work in the Advance settings. Copyright© Web Help |
